Academic Interest Awards 2020

The Students' Union annual Academic Interest Award Ceremony will take place again this year on 26th March in the Conference Suite. All students and staff are invited to attend, and we're asking you to tell us who the winners should be below!

Which award would you like to submit a nomination for? Inspiring Teaching Award - This is for an academic who makes a significant contribution to your academic experience be it through teaching, assessment and feedback practices, responding to student feedback or exceptional teaching. Professional Staff Member Award - This is for someone outside the classroom who makes student lives at Leeds Trinity brilliant. This might be a technician, school administrator, member of catering staff or someone else who has made a significant experience on the student experience. Personal Tutor of the Year - This award is for a Personal Tutor who makes students' lives better through their pastoral role. They have ensured that students get the support that they need, whether this be to do with their academic studies or for reasons outside of the lecture halls. Student Experience Award - This is for someone who adds to the student experience either in or out of the lecture halls. This award is for someone who goes the extra mile, making yours and other students lives special at Leeds Trinity. Service/Department of the Year - This is for a service that has supported you and/or other students around you. They may have made a significant contribution to your time at university or supported you at a point where it was needed. They constantly demonstrate they have students at the heart of what they do. Student Employer of the Year - This is for a department on campus that employs students, and makes it an enjoyable experience. They might be particularly considerate of student commitments that happen alongside the student-staff role, or they might do something special to make students feel like a part of their staff team. Whatever it is that makes them special, students find working with this employer worthwhile. Student Employee of the Year - This is for a student who is also a staff member, and makes the student experience extra special through their work. They might provide service with a smile at one of the catering facilities, or support students through a more pastoral or academic role. Student Rep of the Year - This award is for a student who has represented student views to either the University or the Students' Union to improve the student experience at Leeds Trinity. They may participate in meetings to get the student voice heard, or ensure that your feedback is listened to at other levels to make student life better.
